How Simple Things Tell Complex Stories

Art content in games should combine technical excellence with visual storytelling, making the fictional world feel alive and believable.
Every detail matters: worn surfaces, scratches, dust, and realistic textures. It is the subtle imperfections that give everyday objects their authenticity.

Finding the Beauty in Simplicity

For HUNT: Showdown by Crytek, our task was to create a 3D storage shelf that feels like part of real 19th-century Louisiana life.
It’s a simple piece of environment design — yet a perfect example of how small details bring atmosphere and depth to the world.
Our artists found the balance between creativity and simplicity, keeping the asset true to the concept while making it visually engaging and rich in character.

Attention to Every Layer

Without deviating from the concept, the team introduced details that reveal the setting and story behind the object:
wear and tear, wood grain, traces of paint, layers of dust, and the subtle imperfections that suggest human use and time.
To achieve realistic results, they created precise Normal, AO, and Color ID maps — ensuring the lighting reacts naturally and every surface irregularity contributes to the final impression.

Where Art Meets Realism

Carefully crafted assets like this one go far beyond technical accuracy — they define the tone and emotion of the game world.
Each prop, no matter how small, tells a story and helps players feel immersed in the environment.
At ENTANGLED Studio, we believe that believability lies in the details — and every asset we create is built to make virtual worlds feel real.
